Mom and Me - Memphis, TN Photography

Hello Friends, I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day! Over the past few weeks, I have had several portrait sessions centered specifically around babies and children! Here they are:

Mom & Me (and just me) Minis

First up, we had Mr. Myles for the Mom and Me Minis! Myles posed with Mom's and his big siblings baby blankets (the two crocheted blankets) which was a beautiful sentiment for Mom. Isn't he just handsome? The most chill baby ever, too!

Next we had two of my fave kiddos, Stella and Luke! Mom didn't want to be in the photos but it was lovely catching up with her while we shot their session. They've grown so much- I remember meeting them when Stella and was and only child and just learning to talk in sentences! These kids are so full of vibrancy and personality, I love watching them grow!

Lastly, I met Allison and Brittan, a gorgeous mom and daughter, for a girls only session (Brittan has an older brother) which I thought was super special! Just like with dad, little girls have their own special bond with their mom, and it changes as they grow up. Mom starts out as the caregiver, the protector, the enforcer and the one we run to when life gets to be too much. Then she becomes all that plus our best friend! So this session carried that sentiment. Thank you ladies for allowing me to capture your beauty!

Spreading the News

I have been keeping a secret for a few months and was thrilled to finally share it - one of my best friends and super talented photographer Andrea King is expecting her second child! Along with her husband Justin and son Brody, we met at Overton just after a rain storm came through to capture the exciting news with a cute photo session. Congratulations Kings! P.S. I'm obsessed with the rose gold balloons!

Evelyn's Fresh 48

I did a maternity session for the Fuschi family back in April. Happily, their baby arrived safely last week! Evelyn is absolutely beautiful, y'all. We did a Fresh 48 session in their hospital room and it has to be one of my all time favorite sessions I've ever done. The love and happiness of these parents have over this child they prayed for was felt and remarkable. I had to hold back tears watching them! Congratulations, Fuschi Family!

Thank you everyone in this post for entrusting me with your memories and special moments! It's an honor and priviledge to be a part of your lives!

Watson Family Fun - Southaven, MS Photographer

My high school buddy Amanda gave me the honor of capturing their first ever professional family photography session, and I was more than glad to oblige! We shot these at the Snowden House in Southaven on a beautiful but chilly day in March. What strikes me is not only are they a gorgeous family but also some of the kindest people you'll ever want to meet. Their love for one another is genuine and they have a great time together! Thank you Watson Family for choosing RJI!

Bring on the Spring! Memphis TN Photographer

Although the weather has a mind of it's own, it's Spring, and Spring for me means houses houses houses! It also means folks are wanting to get out, put on some bright colors and frolic among the flowers. Since March 1st I have been going full steam ahead. Here are a few highlights from the past few months I wanted to share, along with some updates and a great idea for Mother's Day!

Green Bee Real Estate

I want to welcome a new but old client to the RJI Family- Jenna Williamson of Green Bee Real Estate! Jenna was formerly with another company but decided to strike out on her own with a mission to not only help home owners/buyers but to help make Memphis beautiful. A percentage of her commission goes to environmental causes and community projects. I am truly blessed to know this amazing lady! Here are some images from her very first listing as Green Bee, 349 Garland Street! It had a contract in 48 hours! If you'd like to contact Jenna about listing your home, the number is 901-729-9809!

David Zanca, Memphis Author

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. David Zanca, a retired Fedex Executive, who is about to publish a book about business! His images will be used on not only his book cover but his website and social media. He is anticipating his book being out this month! Mr. Zanca is a truly a kind and easy going man, he was a joy to work with. Best of luck on your book!

Lauren Warren, Memphis Blogger

Once again, it was time for a personal branding session with the ultra-fabulous, wonderfully spirited Lauren! This time we took it outside to Overton Park for a Letote inspired session where she showed off her awesome yoga moves. We also got groovy with her bellbottom sleeve shirt!

Grant New Homes Custom beauty

I've done many sessions for Grant & Co. Homes this year but this one particular home was so gorgeous I had to share with you, it's also a great example of the possibilities you have when building your custom home with their company. In Hearthstone Subdivision (Collierville) the owners pulled out all the stops on their forever home, from the stunning statement of the fireplace to the impeccable master bathroom to the exquisite kitchen! One of the most breathtaking homes I've ever shot! You can have one just like it for yourself!

Mom & Me Minis

I have 3 spots left for Mom & Me Mini Sessions! These are perfect for moms who want a sweet session with their children, a great mother's day gift for your wife, mom or special mama in your life. Don't have human kids? No problem! Bring your fur babies! First come first serve! For all the info, check out my news page.

fuschi fam of four!

Speaking of Mamas! So many of my family and friends are expecting which means I have more babies to snuggle and spoil rotten! My friends the Fuschi's -Natalie, Jon and son Dylan- are about to become a family of 4 when their sweet baby girl Evelyn arrives any day now! I was honored to capture their family session at the park with all the gorgeous dogwood trees. Congratulations!

1. My website my be up and down the next few weeks as I make improvements to my client portals and update content. Thanks for understanding!

2. One of the things I am committed to this year is furthering my education, so there will be a few days over the next several months where I'll be unavailable due to attending classes. Fortunately, I can attend them at my leisure but I will still need to make time for them. As usual, any days that I'm closed will be posted on my news page.

3. The first quarter of this year has been amazing! I'm very grateful for all the business I received from both new and returning clients. Thank you so much!

January 2018 Recap - Memphis, TN Photographer

Hello my lovely humans, happy February! We are a month and a week into this year already! January got off to a rocky start as my whole family got the flu (ugh!) but thankfully recovered. Then my child's school was closed for an entire week because of the snow and ice. So basically I was a hermit for two weeks. But that gave me time to work on my plans for 2018! It's funny, although January is typically slower work wise, I always have an amazing project that falls into my lap every year! So I'd like to share about that and some other cool happenings:

9291 Forest Hill Lane

First I worked with my all time favorite agent, Suzanne Culpepper, of Mike Murphy Realtors on this immaculate house in Germantown, TN:

Lauren's Personal Branding Session

This year I'm incorporating Personal Branding Photography into my business, and was beyond happy that my friend Lauren decided to partake in it! Lauren is developing a blog devoted to self improvement/care. Her mission statement:

"To talk and connect openly about life, learning and the connection between them so that we can improve ourselves personally and professionally...and go out into the world as confident, sparkly mermaids who don't take no sh*t."

For her session we captured the different aspects of her life in the comfort of her home. As you can see, she's definitely vivacious, fun and outgoing, but she's also mindful, spiritual and reflective. I'm thrilled with the way this session came out! Thank you Lauren for working with RJI! Can't wait to see what you have in store for us! Check her out:

A giveaway!

What's the Prize? A lucky winner will recieve a free 10 image real estate session and a basket of RJI swag and other goodies ($200 value)!

Spring Minis 2018

Lastly, several folks have asked if I will be doing Spring Minis this year and the answer is YES! I don't have all my info yet but they will be held in April after Easter. I'll be posting everything soon so check back!

One Little Word 2018- Memphis TN Photographer

Happy New Year Friends! Welcome 2018!

It is that time again! Where I share with you my one little word, a word that is used to define the year ahead and is reflective of something you want to accomplish, change, improve or become. The past few years I've chosen words like voice, deliberate, cultivate, will, courage. Strong words that made me want to take action. But this year I knew would be a horse of a different color.

My OLW for 2018 is CLEAR.

Normally my words come to me easily but 2018's was being stubborn; once it surfaced I knew it was spot on. I need to clear out the old to make way for the new. As I put away my Christmas decor this weekend, I realized that this was the first holiday in years where I intentionally slowed down, took it all in, enjoyed the moment. It was lovely, and I thought why not carry this into every aspect of life? Clear out old ways of doing things. Old mindsets. Old habits.

Professionally, I'm adopting the same premise. With now a decade under my belt as a business owner (as of today!) I've made changes over the years certainly, but this year I am revilatizing everything in order to make way for this new era.

In 2018, I plan to be more kind, patient, present, transparent, aware and un-apologetically myself. I plan to clear up my diet, my relationships, my mind and my office (I'm so excited to hold consults here this year!)

I hope you all have a wonderfully blessed and happy new year!
